Jackson, Jr, 33°, Chairman of the Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation (far right) presented a check in the amount of $82,365 to Baylor University's Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders for the 6th Annual Camp Success on behalf of the Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation. Also on hand for the presentation was (from left) Dr. Lee Nordt, Dean, College of Arts & Sciences, BU; Ill:. M. Douglas Adkins, 33°IGH, SGIG in Texas; Dr. David Garrett, Dept. Chair, Communication Sciences and Disorders, BU, and Dr. Michaela Ritter, Director - Camp Success, Assoc. Chair, Communication Sciences and Disorders, BU. The WSRCF has donated over $300,000 since 2003 to underwrite Camp Success - which is a Language/Literacy Clinic for children who are at risk for Dyslexia.

The Wal-Mart Return Center in Waco and Waco/Central Texas Carter BloodCare Center continues to support the Waco Scottish Rite and Freemasonry through its contribution to Camp Success.  Camp Success is a Waco Scottish Rite, Baylor University and Community sponsored RiteCare Language and Literacy Clinic which enhances the quality of learning for children, who experience reading and learning difficulties.  Jim Havens, Director of Operations for Waco/Central Texas Carter BloodCare presents a check for $500.00 to Dr. Michaela Ritter, Director of Camp Success – Baylor University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders to support Camp Success through the Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation. Taliesa Olivares - HR Manager of Wal-Mart Return Center presents a check to the WSRCF Representatives for $1,000.00. Camp Success is scheduled for June 3 – July 3 where approximately 80 area children are to attend Camp Success, which will provide those students attending over 52 hours of intense individualized language and reading instruction.  Additionally, the Camp will allow 30 Graduate Students to receive academic credit for this endeavor, which assists them to meet their academic and professional goals. 

 

 

Ill:. Claude Ervin, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Valley of Waco, presented a check in the amount of $66,000 to Baylor University's Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders for the 5th Annual Camp Success on behalf of the Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation. The WSRCF has donated over $225,000 since 2003 to underwrite Camp Success - which is a Language/Literacy Clinic for children who are at risk for Dyslexia.
